Taiwanese pop diva, A Mei, was in Kuala Lumpur today for a press conference and also performed at an exclusive showcase to promote the “A Mei STAR Tour Live in Malaysia 2009” concert, which will be held on 20 March, from 8.45pm onwards at the Bukit Jalil National Outdoor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. Hotlink is the main sponsor of the Taiwanese singer’s concert.

Those who topped up RM100 enjoyed a 30% discount on concert tickets and were also treated to an autograph session with A Mei. Meanwhile, five top downloaders of A Mei music content will meet the star on 21 February.
At the press conference, Hotlink also announced special discounts on tickets to A Mei’s concert. Between 1 to 28 February, new Maxis postpaid customers will be presented with 30 percent discount on tickets when they sign up for a Maxis Value Plan 50 and above at Maxis retail centres and selected dealers in Klang Valley. Meanwhile, to obtain a 10% discount on tickets, customers just need to download the A Mei Caller Ringtone Package at RM5; or Hotlink prepaid customers just need to top up RM60 from now until 15 March. The discounts are redeemable at the Sg Wang Concourse Area and Galaxy office in Mid Valley City.
The A Mei Caller Ringtone Package contains three A Mei songs. Two out of three songs are refreshed automatically on a monthly basis to ensure that fans are able to entertain their callers with a variety of A Mei songs.

The A Mei STAR Tour kicked off in November 2007 and has toured 13 different cities including Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taipei to great response. Due to popular demand, the tour will end with a repeat show in Taipei.
A Mei, also known as Zhang Hui Mei, is known for her powerful vocals, stage charisma and popular hits. A Mei made her music debut in 1996 with her first album Sisters. It immediately topped the Taiwan IFPI chart for a record nine consecutive weeks and made her an instant hit on the music scene. She has frequently been called a diva of the Mandarin pop music scene, as well as the “Pride of Taiwan”. She has won numerous music awards and is one of the biggest music sensations in the Mandarin-speaking world. She last performed in Malaysia in 1999 to a record turnout of 35,000 fans.
