U Mobile’s Exciting New UMI 18 Prepaid Plan, Gives Unlimited Internet Surfing, Free Calls and Free SMS
U Mobile Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s most dynamic and innovative telco, has broadened its exciting range of prepaid offerings with the introduction of a new variation to its popular Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI) prepaid service, which provides subscribers with quality services, free calls, free SMS and unlimited internet access.
With just RM18 per month, subscribers can now enjoy 250MB of data, 25 minutes of free calls to all networks, free 25 SMS to all networks and a variety of other benefits offered by U Mobile. This plan is especially designed for new smartphone users, teenagers and students who love to surf the internet, stay connected with their friends and families and stream their favourite videos. They can now enjoy limitless mobile internet services without burning a hole in their pockets.
The plan was officially launched during the ceremony to mark the activation of U Mobile’s 3G Radio Access Network (RAN) sharing with Maxis, which sees U Mobile expanding its network reach to key cities and towns within Peninsular Malaysia. The UMI 18 is in line with U Mobile’s commitment to being customer-focused, staying true to its promise of designing products and services to cater to various consumer lifestyles and customer’s needs.

U Mobile’s UMI service is an extension to its prepaid plan which provides users unlimited data access (subject to fair usage policy) even after they have exceeded the allocated data quota. The company wowed the mobile industry in April 2011 with its UMI 28 prepaid plan, offering users 500MB data, 100 minutes of free calls to ALL networks and 30 free SMS to ALL networks at just RM28. U Mobile is also the first and only prepaid mobile internet plan in the market that offers free calls and SMS to all networks.
The telco is also rewarding customers who switch to U Mobile providing even more reasons for them to port over without qualms over losing their current telephone numbers. Subscribers who port over to U Mobile using the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service will be rewarded with a free U Mobile prepaid SIM Pack that is preloaded with airtime. New customers who Port In to U Mobile will also enjoy 15% bonus for every top up of RM30 and above for the first six months of their subscription. The offer was made available to consumers on 25 September 2012 and will end on 31 March 2013.
