U MOBILE WINS “BEST NEW SERVICE” AWARD AT GoMOBILE INNOVATION AWARDS NIGHT 2012
U Mobile’s awards shelf has just become more crowded as Malaysia’s most innovative and dynamic telco has received the ‘Best New Service’ Award at the GoMobile Innovation Awards Night 2012. The award recognises U Mobile’s prepaid products and services under GoMobile Operators Awards 2012 category.
Too Tian Jen, Chief Technology Officer of U Mobile Sdn Bhd, was beaming when he received the definitive award from YBhg Datuk Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi, Chairman of Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
U Mobile impressed the panel of judges with its unique services and value-added offerings found in U Mobile’s prepaid services; especially its zero-roaming charges, local call rates and lowest data roaming for subscribers travelling to Singapore. This unique roaming product is a result of U Mobile’s strategic partnership with Starhub.
In addition, U Mobile’s prepaid service outshone other shortlisted services with its free calls offering. Subscribers can call their friends and families within the network for free with no restrictions on the number of contacts.
The company’s Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI) for prepaid subscribers also caught the panel’s attention as U Mobile boasts to be the first in the market to offer this attractive offer which allows users to surf the Internet for less than RM1 per day.

The GoMobile Awards is a platform for the recognition of outstanding achievements, contributions and innovations by industry players and is part of the annual GoMobile event, which consists of the GoMobile Expo, GoMobile Conference and GoMobile inOvation Awards and Celebration Party. The GoMobile Operators Award 2012 category within the awards is given to operators with the best services.
Prior to the win at GoMobile Awards Night 2012, U Mobile has bagged the coveted Frost & Sullivan “Most Promising Service Provider of the Year” Award at the recent Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards.
