This special collection was an opportunity for Hatta Dolmat to explore new and fresh ways to tweak the traditional mainstay of the two-piece baju kurung and baju melayu.
Echoing the timing of the launch, the designer said, “This is the first traditional bridal collection for me. There are pieces that are suited for Akad Nikah, Reception, Raya Open House and there are some which are perfect for Raya or to easily go from day to night.”
His 20 plus interpretations presented at The Wedding KL 2022, Shangri La KL on February 17th, encapsulated the designer’s penchant for injecting a modern twist to classic designs with interesting play of proportions to the traditional “pesak” for example, and introducing a pastel colour palette of mint, nude and pink as well as masterly form-fitting cuts that resonate with a quiet sensuality in the most feminine and elegant way.
