The “2016 MTV Movie Awards” promises to deliver an incredible night under the stars with an amazing line-up of Hollywood’s hottest actors, celebrities and musicians when it airs outside for the first time from the backlot of Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California on MTV on Monday, 11 April at 7pm (TH/WIB), 8pm (SG), 9pm (MY) and on MTV LIVE HD on Tuesday, 12 April at 7pm (TH/WIB) and 8pm (HK/MY/PH/SG).
The “2016 MTV Movie Awards” will air across MTV’s global network of channels in more than 160 countries and territories, reaching more than half a billion households around the world.

Comedic Genius Award: MTV announced that comedian, actress, writer and producer extraordinaire, Melissa McCarthy will receive its “Comedic Genius Award” at the “2016 MTV Movie Awards” for her bold and fearless comedic style that has captured audiences hearts. Melissa started her career at the Groundlings Theatre and became a household name with her breakout roles in Bridesmaids and “Mike & Molly.” McCarthy has starred in the hit films St. Vincent, Spy, Identity Thief, and The Heat. Her latest film The Boss (Universal) which she co-wrote with Ben Falcone and Steve Mallory and which Falcone directs was released in theatres yesterday and her upcoming film, Ghostbusters (Sony) will be released in July.

MTV News Correspondent Josh Horowitz will highlight the most honoured stars of the night during the “Movie Awards” red carpet, looking back at some of the most iconic past “Movie Awards” moments and offering sneak peeks at Hollywood’s most-anticipated movies during the “2016 MTV Movie Awards” Pre-Show airing on 6.30pm (TH/WIB), 7.30pm (SG) and 8.30PM (MY) on MTV. Throughout the 30-minute Pre-Show, fans will get an insider look at three exclusive set visits, including Baywatch, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and Kong: Skull Island.
