MTV, along with social correspondents for the “2014 MTV Movie Awards,” Our 2nd Life (O2L) announced the debut of a new socially-voted category “FAVORITE CHARACTER”, for the “2014 MTV Movie Awards” that will premiere in Asia on Monday, 14 April at 8pm (WIB), 9pm (SIN/HK/PH) and 10pm (MAL).
Building on the success of the first-ever social category integration that launched in 2012 with BEST HERO, MTV will once again put the power in the hands of the fans to choose a winner using the respective hashtags via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine.

This marks the third year that the socially-voted category has been incorporated into the “MTV Movie Awards” with the first award going to BEST HERO in 2012. Each year, the award continues to see significant growth with a 310% increase in social voting year-over-year.
O2L has worked alongside MTV since the start of the Movie Awards campaign and will continue up to and including having them as social correspondents for MTV on the Red Carpet. O2L members include Connor Franta, Ricky Dillon, JC Caylen, Trevor Moran, Sam Pottorff and Kian Lawley, who are among the most popular international millennial brands today collectively commanding over 8 million subscribers and 380 million views on YouTube.
In addition, actor and producer Channing Tatum will receive the third annual “MTV Trailblazer Award” presented by Mila Kunis during the “2014 MTV Movie Awards”. Tatum is the first male to ever receive the “Trailblazer” award for boldly paving the way with his unique and diverse path in the film industry. Previous winners include Emma Watson and Emma Stone.
“Channing Tatum is the quintessential leading man for the MTV audience,” said Stephen Friedman, President of MTV. “He proves that an action hero can have both a quick wit and a large heart. Whether he’s baring his soul in The Vow, his chest in Magic Mike, or his humor in 21 Jump Street, Channing proves that by committing everything, you can accomplish anything.”
Later this year, Tatum will reprise his role as Jenko in 22 Jump Street and share the screen with Mila Kunis in the upcoming Sci-Fi thriller Jupiter Ascending. He will also star in Foxcatcher with Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo, as well as the animated film The Book of Life. He will soon begin production on the sequel to Magic Mike.
The “2014 MTV Movie Awards” will feature an exclusive, never-before-seen electrifying scene from the highly anticipated film The Amazing Spider-Man 2™, which swings into theatres on 30 April (Indonesia/Philippines) and 1 May (Singapore/Hong Kong/Malaysia). The sneak peek will be introduced by the film’s returning stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone who will be joined by new villain Jamie Foxx.
We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important conflict has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that his greatest battle is about to begin.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp. Directed by Marc Webb. Produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. Screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner. Screen Story by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. Based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
