Everyday, more than 10 Malaysians are tested positive for HIV. Of the total number of Malaysians infected with HIV, hundreds are innocent children. In support of these children living with HIV/AIDS, the Karyawan Young Artistes Bureau will be organizing a fund raising event, the “KARYA1 MALAYSIA CHARITY BAZAAR†at Amcorp Mall (3rd Floor) on 16 August 2009, 12pm until 6pm.
Local celebrities will join in to raise funds by selling their merchandise, products or personal items. Faces who have committed to making a difference to these children include members of the Karyawan Young Artistes Bureau like Dayang Nurfaizah, Amylea, Dior, Hafiz, Ifa Raziah, Aizat, Faizal AF4, Iqwal, Stacy, Dafi, Angeline Wong, Andrew Tan, Sivakumar, Boy Iman, Shazroul, Miss Malaysia and other celebrities.
Suria FM has agreed to be the official radio partner for the KARYA1 MALAYSIA CHARITY BAZAAR and their DJs will also be acting as MCs for the event. We are indeed very honoured to have Suria FM as our official radio partner for this charitable cause.
“We are inviting all other artistes to take a booth and sell their merchandise, personal items or any other products and donate a portion or all of their proceeds to the Malaysian Aids Foundation for these children in need†explained Freddie Fernandez, President of the Malaysian Karyawan Association.
Members of the public visiting this bazaar will also get to interact with many local artistes, Suria FM DJs as well as some of the artistes from the Malaysian Aids Foundation Red Ribbon Celebrity Programme, whose primary aim is to disseminate information and create awareness on HIV/AIDS as well as to help eliminate discrimination and promote the rights of sufferers to ensure quality care is given to them.
The Karyawan Young Artistes Bureau is in total support of Malaysian Aids Foundation efforts and this event is a way of extending their support to the many innocent Malaysian children who are infected. The funds generated from this event will surely lend some hope to add some quality to their lives.
This event is supported by the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF), established in 1992 to support and coordinate the efforts of organizations working on HIV/AIDS issues in Malaysia. Everyone is invited to this auspicious event where members of the public will get to meet their favourite local celebrities while donating toward a good cause. Please come with your friends and family for a fun day out with the stars.
