AirAsia and Partners Strike it BIG at MITM Travel Fair 2011
Special privileges and offers up for grabs for MITM visitors
KUALA LUMPUR, 27 October 2011 – AirAsia and AirAsia X together with strategic partners, Citibank, BIG, AIA Berhad and Multi-Purpose Insurans Berhad are participating in MITM Travel Fair from the 28th – 30th October 2011. This will be the first time that the public will get an opportunity to get up, close and personal with AirAsia co-branded products and services via its strategic partners.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about AirAsia INSURE Travel Protection Plan and Lifestyle Protection Plans, AirAsia unique co-brand credit card with Citibank and our very own Loyalty Programme called BIG. BIG is the “first of its kind†global loyalty programme where AirAsia members can earn BIGGIES (points) with every transaction to redeem FREE flights from AirAsia.
Together with its partners, AirAsia has lined up many exciting offers, promotions and gifts with purchases for those who book AirAsia flight tickets at the fair.
AirAsia-Citibank Credit Cardholders will be rewarded with a FREE trolley bag if they are the first 50 customers daily who spends RM2,500 or more on their AirAsia-Citibank Credit Card at participating merchants. In a special collaboration with Tourism Australia, passengers who book flights to Australia using an AirAsia-Citibank Credit Card stand a chance to receive exclusive gifts. In addition to these offers, card members have the option to pay for their flights and tour packages with Citi Rewards points in partial or full payment. Non-members are encouraged to sign up during the fair, whereby an instant gift awaits. Every approved application is eligible to RM150 cash back.
AirAsia INSURE along with its insurance partners AIA Berhad and Multi-Purpose Insurans Berhad are also giving out premiums and exclusive merchandise for its travel and lifestyle plans. All offline purchases of AirAsia INSURE Travel Protection made at MITM comes with an additional RM10,000 Personal Accident Benefit.
During the course of the fair, guests will have the chance to experience the comfortable ‘Premium FlatBed seats’ which is available on AirAsia X flights. The flatbed seats have standard business class specifications of 20†width, 60†pitch and stretch out to 77†in the full recline position. The seats feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen. This new improvement offers unmatched comfort to the guests and positions AirAsia as the market leader, further bolstering the brand as the epitome of innovation and excellence.

The fair will be held at Mid Valley Exhibition Center from 10am – 9pm. Entrance fee is RM3 and children below 12pm can enter for free. First 1,000 AirAsia-Citibank Credit Card members who visit the fair will also enjoy complimentary entry. Entry tickets can be collected from Citibank Smart Banking Kiosk at Mid Valley, Level 2 South Court.
